Sneaky Trips

I'm telling ya, this dog is taking up so much of our time. One thing we have decided, this will be our last puppy, if we get another, it will be an adult dog.

I am originally from Ohio, and still have 3 sisters, a grandson and his family, and gobs of friends there. When we go for a visit, we never have enough time to see everyone because the main reason we go is to see the grandson, his wife and 2 of my great grandkids. Well, last week I got a hankering to hug the little ones, so Dave and I, on the spur of the moment, decided to take a quick trip up just for that purpose. We didn't tell anyone we were going so no one could feel slighted, but we planned only one day, and wanted to spend it with the kids. So, we left out on Monday morning, got there in the afternoon, stayed all day Tuesday, then drove home on Wednesday. It was a perfect visit, and I got my baby fix. It is about 500 miles, but a very easy ride up I-26, I-81 andI-77 through parts of Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia to Ohio. The trees were beautiful the whole way. I told Dave that this was the longest leaf viewing ride we ever took, lol. Plus, it was a real test for Star to be riding in the car that long. She did great!!!!

Here are some pictures of our trip.

Dave and Cody with Carter and Star. The city of Ashland Ohio had a downtown trick or treat with the merchants on Tuesday, so we got to go along. Cody was making fun of his grandpa's "gut" til he realized that dave's pouch on his sweatshirt was filled with dog treats and another lead, lol.

We had lunch at Dor-lo's pizza. Poor little Ari fell asleep on the table, lol. Cody took the picture.

I love this little family!!!! And I like the pictures, but what's up with my boobs???? For some reason, as my deceased FIL would have said, my headlights stay lit. They didn't do that back in the day when I went braless, lol. And at the restaurant, they must have been tired cause I let them rest on the table. Oh well, I'm an old lady and can't be bothered with those little details.

I hope my sister that reads my blog won't hold this against me that I didn't get time to visit. I'm thinking that maybe each time we come I should take turns visiting each one. We'll see.

I have been sewing since the weather turned chilly. I'm making a really cute snowman wall hanging. I'll show you when it gets to a place where it's all together.

Later,

It's tough to stretch your time when traveling. Looks like you had a lovely time.
