I've been slack..

With all the beautiful weather we've been having, plus a short visit to Ohio, I have been very slack at keeping up with my blog. But I have been keeping my hands busy. :>)

Finished my quilt for the Doll quilt swap. Posted a sneak peek, so I really shouldn't show the whole quilt til the recipient sees it. This is what I showed her, lol.

I've been trying not to buy any fabric in this year, but a local quilt shop went out of business, and one just can't pass up fabric at 70% off. Here's what I got: I love that black with the green leaves. And I like anything black and white with a little red thrown in.

I picked out the floral fabric, then while I was in line, Dave found the 3 coordinating fabrics and MADE me buy them, lol. He really does have a good eye for color.

In Ohio, I found this WOW. It had meandering on it, so I bought it thinking I can use it for backing on a little quilt then just follow the print for the quilting. It is really hard to get a clear picture of white fabric....

Also got this in Ohio. $8.00 a yard for double sided pre quilted fabric. Not bad. I got it to make machine covers, but then decided just to throw tea towels over them and save this for "good".

My sister, Patty, gave me the little thread catcher, and another sister, Roma, gave me the penny pocket. I love gifties....

We were going to go hiking today, but MIL snuck the car out the day we came home from Ohio, and of course she had an accident in a parking lot, so we have to stay close to deal with the insurance company. But Dave is going to take her to the DMV to turn in her license and get a state ID card tomorrow so hopefully nothing like this will happen again. Then we will have to figure out a way to make her give us the car keys. Her excuse was "but I need to keep the keys in case there is a fire and I need to get the car out of the garage." YIKES!!! She's 90, and mostly pretty good, til she forgets how old she is. It's funny, but she is so self-conscious of her age, almost embarrassed, so she tries really hard to show folks how well she does, like it matters, lol.

Now to decide what to undertake for today.

Later,
WilmaNC

A 70% sale truly must be taken! And you did good, too. Love all the gifties and can't wait to see your doll quilt - as well as everyone elses.

Hello Wilma

With so much% must buy it, otherwise it is not worth the long way (laughs)
Small gifts, I think is great, your sisters are sweet!
Spring Greetings from Wilma

Welcome back! That is a tricky situation about your MIL. I thought of you yesterday when I laid aside some fabric for my first doll quilt.

I love you fabrics and your husband picked some nice ones too.
Will be looking forward to seeing what you stitch out of them.

great fabric finds! what store was it that went out of business? I hate that.
that is funny but not funny about your MIL. It must be tough not being able to drive but 90 is getting on up there.
