Heart Strings

I helped my sister out by finishing up a quilt for the Heartstrings Quilt Project. It's a very worthwhile endeavor. Go see the site if you haven't already.

Anyway, this one was one with a lime green center strip. I quilted it doing a freehand swirl pattern, which mimicked the swirls on the backing. I didn't want to print labels, so I just traced one using my fabric paint pens and used some scraps of pretreated fabric I had. Looks cute. This quilt goes to the Guardian ad Litem office in Asheville.

Getting psyched up to watch the NCAA tournament. I am huge fan of both UNC and Ohio State. OSU has a really good chance to win it all this year. Hope being the favorite doesn't jinx them. UNC-Asheville is playing right now, they are the local UNC campus, but don't think they will go on for long.

As long as the games are on my hands will be busy either knitting my socks or hand quilting on a paid piece. This piece is very interesting and challenging. I will tell you all about it next time.

Later,
WilmaNC

I like the lime green - it brings it all together. Heart Strings is a great project - funny I am working on a red string right now. I like how you did the label and I'm tucking that info for possible use.

Oh, Wilma, Wilma. I have really liked you but now I find that you are an Ohio State fan. DH is a Northwestern grad and OS was always the hated team. Almost as bad as Alabama, but not quite. I will have to really think about our friendship but I'm sure I can overlook this one weakness in you. ;-)

I love the quilt. I wonder if the March Madness that has bee n advertised on tv here is the same.
Anyway, I'm like you. We watched the Canadian curling championships last week and who know that watching this would be heart thumping which made me knit fast!
Have lots of wool handy, you will need it!
