And the Winner is........

Sherry !!!! Congratulations on winning my giveaway. I will be contacting you for your mailing address.

Now. I did do a little quilting this past week. A while back, my little online group, ABC Quilters, had a swap of thread-like blocks. I finally got motivated and put them together. The original idea came from  book by Edyta Sitar called, Friendship Strips and Scraps. I kind of used her pattern for a spool quilt, but didn't do the appliquéd borders. I used the extra pieces I had in the borders. It is a nice top. Just needs to be quilted.

I also made up a cute apron and hot pad for a good friend who is having Dave and I over for Thanksgiving Dinner. The young folks in my family are entertaining other young folks, so we took this opportunity to eat somewhere else and for the first time in forever, not have to cook!!! Though I will miss the leftovers.

Anyway, I bought the pattern as a kit from Pleasant Home quite a while ago. She always uses such nice pretty fabrics. It came out sweet!!

I did those things above as I was searching for a new and exciting project and found them. But, now I have found something else!! Go to Lori Holt's blog, Bee in My Bonnett,  and read about her Have Yourself a Quilty Little Christmas, an Instagram sew along using her book, Quilty Fun. I happened to have the book, so I decided to sew along. I have 4 blocks finished so far, and I think it's going to be a really nice quilt. I didn't have Instagram, so I did make an account, but after this I don't think I will add more people on there as I have a hard enough time keeping up with Facebook, lol. This project has me excited!! I got out of bed this morning wanting to sew.

Here is a picture of the book, and my blocks so far.

Hope everyone has a nice week.

Later,
WilmaNC

The Christmas tree and ginger bread house are darling. I like the cherry material in the apron and pot holder a nice gift.

Congratulations to your winner and thank you for hosting. I adore Edyta Sitar's work - her technique of marrying batiks with cottons has such a beautiful look. I have that apron pattern and have made them for gifts. I don't need Facebook, Instagram or anything else - would never sew.

What fun you are having! The spool quilt top came out gorgeous! So colorful and fun. And your hot pad and apron is really a great gift. And I want to start that Quilty Fun project, too :) But I will hold back and relax a little first :)
