Christmas finishes.

I love doing Christmas projects, and have finished a few. First, here is a wreath made from the Floating Geese pattern. I found this somewhere on the internet, and just kind of went with it. Can't take credit for the idea though. I made this for Val in a doll quilt swap on the Quilting Bee forum.

I also finished the Christmas Stitchery redwork banner. It came out so cute and will look so nice draped across the mantel for the holidays.

I also made a bunch of the felt pins/brooches. They look so much better in person, my picture taking skills are non existent, lol.

Now on to making a new carryall for my next great grandchild (a girl!!)to come in December.

OOPS!!! Had to come back to show you my latest finished pair of knitted socks!!! The stripes didn't match up this time, must have been a different lot. Dave wants me to make him a pair, but I don't know if I want to spend all that time on socks for him, I want them all for me, lol. Do any of you knit socks and give them away??

Later,

the banner is nice,, and to be done is a good thing..

I like the doll quilt too. will look good on a real doll bed.

As for the socks, i don't knit but would make my hubby a pair for sure, if I did.

Love the banner - my stitchery is done, but need the finishing. I don't knit and can't wear wool - so the socks you will have to do.

Your Christmas Banner is great. Congratulations on getting it together. I just bought my material for binding and will have to hurry and get it done. The socks are nice. I know how to knit but never did anything that hard.

These are very nice! I tried learning to knit when I was younger. I didn't have the patience for it, and I couldn't get the hang of it anyway. I applaud those of you who know how!!

The small quilt and the banners are very nice, but your socks ... they ROCK!

Lots of loveliness! I'm really jealous about the great grandchild, I want to be a grandma! ( but the girls are just 17 and 20, so I don't really want them to be mums yet!)

I don't think Dave should have the socks - no doubt he would put his socked feet into shoes or boots and hide away the fab wool! I will happily offer to take them from you, and wear them as slippers fr all the world to see!

LOL, maybe he *should* have some, don't know about him, but Brian very rarely asks me to make him anything, so when they do ask maybe we should make! Christmas is coming up!

I love your banner, that is so adorable! I don't knit, but I think my daughter needs to learn. She loves tall socks that come up over her knees...those are hard to find!

I knit socks all the time. In fact, I am opening a kiosk at a local salon to sell socks. I call the mismatched stripes like on your socks fraternal twins. *grin* When I knit for men, I usually just do a tube sock. I do two at a time on a 40" circ needle and I use 150 grams of yarn. That way they are the same length and long enough to cover large feet and go up the leg. HTH.

Actually, now that I studied the picture closer, it appears that either you knit one sock pulling from the center of a ball and the other sock pulling from the outside of the ball (I have done this) or one of the balls was wound backwards at the mill.
